Bullet Flight M does not work with my iPhone 13. Have tried to contact the developer twice now with no response. Apple support was not any help either! Beware of this app!
I have been using this app for years and it has never let me down. It has given me correct dope that was accurate enough to make 450+ yard, first shot kills, year after year. I have tried other apps, but they were so complicated that it made them impractical to use. Bullet Flight M is easy to use, especially when time is critical and you need dope now. I use it in my long range shooting school and I highly recommend it for all shooters.
Love this app and have been using for about 10 years. However they need to update ballistic profiles with bullets that have been released in last 5 years. Specifically ELD-X/ ELD-M and ABS profiles since data is out and public.
The math used for ballistics is great. Spot on. But there hasn’t been an update for years. Bullet data base is outdated, needs to work with Kestrel Link.
Why hasn’t this app been updated ?
So many calibers and bullets have been added since this app has been updated, not to mention the new ballistic engines and research by Brian Litz and updated and more accurate BC’s. The app is very useful and accurate if are stuck using one of the preloaded rifle and ammo combinations from the late 90s.
Come on guys. It’s time for new billets to be added.
Has not been updated and it’s not working properly anymore! I’ve had this app for a long time and it was great but needs to be fixed and updated!
I used to love this app when I was in, however there has been no updates in years, lots of new projectiles out now.
I love this app and its capabilities, works wonderfully but needs an updated projectile database, there are a ton of new projectiles missing that are being used in several calibers especially the 6.5’s.
I having been using bullet flight for a few years now. It has been very consistent as long as you input good info. However, I wish you change the background color, hard to see the numbers while during daylights. Would be nice the have an option.
Works great, thanks for making a nice app.
Have had this app for years now and love it. It's not only great to have when shooting, but also when comparing different caliber's or bullet weights/types. Price only hurts once! It's the only app I feel Iv truly got my money's worth out of!
I've used this app for a few years now storing several rifles in it. Calculations are very precise. I mean so precise that I took my longest shot to date with running this app at 2606yds. Between this app my 338 Cheytac and my Leica 1600B for getting atmospherics it's a deadly combination. Only thing I wish the programmers should do is set the maximum distance to 5000yds for us ELR Shooter. Love the app.
I've enjoyed using this app for my 6.5CM as well as my 300WM. Quickly spells out necessary adjustments and gets me on target. Worth the money!
Customer service has been great for the most part. But the ONLY reason I spent the money on this app is the location and weather updating. When this functioned, I loved this app. Locations and weather stopped functioning. Contacted CS and was told they were working to resolve the issue. The fix resolved the location issue, but the weather data is pulling data from four months ago. Not what I paid the extra money for. I do love the function of the app, but not worth the price without all of the functions working properly.
This app hasn't been updated for a while. Paid $30 for an app and it still doesn't support the built-in barometer. There are better apps out there than this. Initially I really liked it but am disappointed in development.
I have had this application for a few years now..... It is fantastic BUT it should have the ability to take notes on a specific load. You can program many different loads, caliber, BC's, and custom hand loads too. This is the best ballistic calculator I have used. A little tweet for notes and it's 5 stars all day. Developers: Make it compatible with Apple Watch. That would be awesome. No more data cards.
I have used this app with multiple guns under both target and hunting scenarios with great accuracy and great percentages of first round strikes. I would recommend to anyone looks my for a reliable easy to use app.
This one of those apps that does not need to be flashy to be perfect. It is a simple number solution to bullet trajectory. Used it for years, from days of iPhone2 to now iPhone6, always worked perfect. Options are unlimited, from custom loads to all major store brands of ammo.
Half the features don't work, the screen is all jumbled and hard to read now, range card lost it's info, and when I try to "get" info it closes out app. Need to fix this and make it so you don't have to modify your whole weapon profile to change the zero range. PITA trying to play around with MPBR
I agree with TRP12345 entirely.
App use to be a 5 star but just like the other review, the weather retrieving function stopped working. It use to work just fine. Needs to be fixed, otherwise I'll just keep using 'Ballistic AE' instead.
The weather and location updates haven't worked for months. When it did work, it did not always pull complete data (altitude, location, pressure, wind, etc.). I have mrad and MOA scopes. It doesn't allow setting up each weapons system to account for this. Instead one must go to a different screen and change the unit of radial measure for all weapons systems. The "get angle" option is user friendly under some conditions. I would prefer an option to type in the +\- height of the target compared to the muzzle. The projectile (ballistics) database needs more functionality. A more direct transfer from the data base would be a benefit. Allowing multiple transfers and more projectiles would also be a nice feature. The appearance is juvenile at best and often one of first things mentioned by friends when showing them the App at the range. Please take advantage of the HD Retina screen on the next update. It does provide accurate adjustments (scope dope); provided that the shooter inputs accurate data. It has put me on target at every attempted distance with every weapons system under many different conditions. One does have to appreciate the physics calculations going on in the background. With a few simple updates, this App would be a 10 out of 10.
Has been working fine until about a month ago. Now current weather will not download.
I have been using the military version for 3 years or so now with various calibers, mostly .260 Rem and .338 Edge. It has been flawless for me with 1st shot hits at 1400yds (4'X4' target) with the .260 Rem. and 3 shots into a garbage can lid at 1680yds with the .338 Edge. An accurate rifle with good MV data with a TOP quality rangefinder AND quality weather/wind meter is essential to get the most out of this program. I have converted some of my buddies who were using Exbal like I was to Bulletflight Military edition which is way better, and much more user friendly on the Iphone than Exbal is on a PDA!! Plus you dont need a cosign indicator on your rifle, set the Iphone on it and push the "get" button and the angle is recorded. Buy it you will like it!
Works great, other than 1 thing after paying $30.00 for an app you would think they would take the time to update it. App hasn't been updated in almost 3 years.
If this thing come loaded with over 3000 projectiles, can someone please tell me where the heck to find it in the app. Would love to have my $30 back.
1002 yard confirmed kill shot on white tail deer with a .308 using this app ... Works perfect!
if you are into long range shooting this app is for you nottin is wrong with it at all its fully legit
I've had this app for a few years now and haven't felt the need to try a different one. If you guys are undecided then head over to the Snipershide forum and read up on there about the different apps. This is a great one though and works for all your rifles. To get the most out of it you need to put in accurate data as in a Kestrel, this goes for any ballistic program. Good Luck
I'm surprised there aren't a lot more reviews on this calc. as its pretty prolific in competition and field use. I've been using this app for a few years with no problems at all. As with anything, the quality of information you get OUT of this is 100% dependent on the quality of information you put IN. Your atmospherics don't have to be dead nuts on but your going to want an accurate station pressure and temp/humidity. This will get me within a few tenths at 1000 and closer... I've not used it past 1K and can not speak on the accuracy of either the wind drift or Coriolis compensation. 5 stars easily...
I recently used this in a 2200 yard match with great results; first shot was within 1 mil of the target. Easy to use, has support for the dealing with the coriolis effect, spin drift, etc. Like all ballistic computers, you'll need good weather data to get the most accurate solution. The jury is still out on the bullet stability function, but the rest of the product is excellent.
App works better than advertised. I have been using it for a couple of years and you will not need another one. Get Bryan Litz book, you will learn a ton. I would like to be able to use my angle cosine indicator... I don't have a angle degree indicator. These devices (aci/adi) are spendy and wish I had option to switch between the two on the app. I am not sure that a user could use this app for two different rifle/scope combinations i.e. One mil/mil scope and one mil/moa scope on a different rifle. It would be nice to have an option where the user could choose metric/standard for each input field.
Excellent app. It just works, and is very intuitive. I got the military version, and it's spot on. It's no substitute for carrying a hand jammed dope card and a kestrel with you, but it good enough for government work.
This product is great I can switch to different calibers fast for multiple shooters I would defiantly buy again.
Used it to make a first round hit on steel at 700 yards. The interface is simple though I wish there was a way to get a Kestrel to sync to be able to download weather data. I have tried all other ballistic programs on both droid os and iPhone. I keep coming back to bulletflight for its ease of use.
This app is the most accurate ballistics program I have used. I've used it out to 1400 yards on steel and it has been spot on. The only improvements I'd like to see is a twist rate input in the load data to compensate for spin drift, an off set sight in in the same field, and i would like to see the MOA output match the clicks. For example, if you say your scope has 1/3 MOA clicks, have the MOA output match the click output. Other than that it works very well.
Bought this app and I am happy with it. Had a question and got practically instant support. Will recommend to all of my shooting buddy's.
The app is great, it just needs a variable scope update... Which I know isn't an easy thing to do, but still.
I tried the calculator and used Brian's G7 data with the 185gr Berger bullet in a .300 Win Mag. The calculator works. I recently took a 1563yd shot at a coyote and missed to the right by 6 feet. I'm impressed. If I had used the feature which takes the earth's rotation into account I may have hit it. That would have been a 3/4 mile shot.
This application has very convenient User Interface. It's very easy to add or modify a new weapon profile, based on a bullet from the extensive library that's included - or your own. It allows adding banded/steped BC (G1 and G7). And it works on iOS 4 and iOS 5! One shortcoming - you cannot add a projectile to the library to then include in multiple weapon profiles. But (a) it's not a big deal - it simply forces you to manually add bullet parameters to each new weapon profile, and (b) the author said he'll include this feature in one of the future releases. Accuracy-wise - Bullet Flight is probably the most accurate ballistic calculator. Its output is within what JBM and Ballistic FTE tell. When compared throughout the range (from 500m to 2000m) Bullet Flight and JBM were within 0.1-0.4mil of each other. Did I say it has the most convenient interface? It also has a great support - usually I get replies within 24 hours from emailing questions. Ballistic FTE is richer in features - such as drawing graphs to compare ballistics of multiple loads & projectiles. Bullet Flight is great for pure shooting - get in the field, get the weather, lase the distance (or mil the target), plug in the data, adjust and shoot. It's the costliest - but money very well-spent. IMHO - Must-Have!
Best external ballistics app for phones out there. Keeps it simple which is the way it needs to be in a tactical setting. I'd like to see is a data book page to track cold bore and such added.
Couldn't be better. Works better than you imagine. Only thing is it doesn't work with Generation 1 iPod Touch. But all the others is fine. Needs OS 4 to run (which Gen 1 ipods cant get). But the maker is trying to fix this now. BUY IT!
The only utility that I wish it had is a trueing drop function. So that it could find the precise MV to my weapon when suppressed. Otherwise, outstanding
i love this app. it has completely elimated the use of my pda and nightforce software. i bought the phone not knowing i could get such apps like this one. i took it to the field and tested it out, i have to say it is right on. i fine tuned it to my rifle and now it tracks like a champ. i would have loved to find this before investing in the other stuff. if you shoot alot, you need this app. it will serve you well. also buy an otter bow survivor series, to put your phone in. water proof and shock proof.and still be able to access the keys and talk. great app and phone combo
