Bullet Flight M App Reviews

Good app needs some tweaking

Pros: easy to set up, great user interface. All variables but twist rate are accounted for. Windage is really, really close to perfect. Cons: I cannot display elevation in MOA and windage in mRad at the same time. In the army we adjust our windage "on the fly" using our mildot reticle, please make this an option. That would really be an awesome option. : )

Excellence

Cant say enough, this program is extremely accurate and user friendly. I bought an Iphone just for the program. Best money ever spent. More accurate than my Sierra program at long distances...Did I mention user friendly.

sor far so good....but

So far bullet flight has tracked my real world dope fairly well out to 1K. Ive been impressed. CONS: However, there is no ability to enter and acount for density altitude with Bulletflight. I would like to see that as an option, as it does factor in to the shot.

Good calculator

Ive not had the opportunity to test the accuracy of the calculations yet, but I trust it will be good. The only feature I feel lacking is an indication of super/sub-sonic transition in velocity. Would be useful to figure the max accurate range.

Impressed

very good program.... theres just one thing id like to see added. Please put in an option to email a ballistic chart like the FTE app. thanks guys

pleased

great app, hope the next version takes the wind direction and speed from the weather station and the built in compass heading of rifle to determine the angle of deflection of the bullet.

Mhmm

600yd headshot dead center. Love this app.

In need of update

I had this app on my iPhone 3G and loved it. On the iPhone 4 everytime I try to use the program it crashes. Please update.

Great App! But......

Great app but I wish it would orientate to read on my armband while shooting! Please fix this!

Great app needs bluetooth

Needs to be bluetooth enabled so I can have my kestrel relay realtime weather data at my location. Other than that it works great

Bullet flight

Very good app. I wish it would let you customize rifle specs more detailed re barrel length and twist rate.

simplistic tool

i love this app. it has completely elimated the use of my pda and nightforce software. i bought the phone not knowing i could get such apps like this one. i took it to the field and tested it out, i have to say it is right on. i fine tuned it to my rifle and now it tracks like a champ. i would have loved to find this before investing in the other stuff. if you shoot alot, you need this app. it will serve you well. also buy an otter bow survivor series, to put your phone in. water proof and shock proof.and still be able to access the keys and talk. great app and phone combo

Awesome program

The only utility that I wish it had is a trueing drop function. So that it could find the precise MV to my weapon when suppressed. Otherwise, outstanding

Awesome App

Couldnt be better. Works better than you imagine. Only thing is it doesnt work with Generation 1 iPod Touch. But all the others is fine. Needs OS 4 to run (which Gen 1 ipods cant get). But the maker is trying to fix this now. BUY IT!

The best out there

Best external ballistics app for phones out there. Keeps it simple which is the way it needs to be in a tactical setting. Id like to see is a data book page to track cold bore and such added.

Excellent, convenient and accurate ballistic calculator! Must-have!

This application has very convenient User Interface. Its very easy to add or modify a new weapon profile, based on a bullet from the extensive library thats included - or your own. It allows adding banded/steped BC (G1 and G7). And it works on iOS 4 and iOS 5! One shortcoming - you cannot add a projectile to the library to then include in multiple weapon profiles. But (a) its not a big deal - it simply forces you to manually add bullet parameters to each new weapon profile, and (b) the author said hell include this feature in one of the future releases. Accuracy-wise - Bullet Flight is probably the most accurate ballistic calculator. Its output is within what JBM and Ballistic FTE tell. When compared throughout the range (from 500m to 2000m) Bullet Flight and JBM were within 0.1-0.4mil of each other. Did I say it has the most convenient interface? It also has a great support - usually I get replies within 24 hours from emailing questions. Ballistic FTE is richer in features - such as drawing graphs to compare ballistics of multiple loads & projectiles. Bullet Flight is great for pure shooting - get in the field, get the weather, lase the distance (or mil the target), plug in the data, adjust and shoot. Its the costliest - but money very well-spent. IMHO - Must-Have!

Its for real!!!

I tried the calculator and used Brians G7 data with the 185gr Berger bullet in a .300 Win Mag. The calculator works. I recently took a 1563yd shot at a coyote and missed to the right by 6 feet. Im impressed. If I had used the feature which takes the earths rotation into account I may have hit it. That would have been a 3/4 mile shot.

Needs variable scope option

The app is great, it just needs a variable scope update... Which I know isnt an easy thing to do, but still.

My review

Bought this app and I am happy with it. Had a question and got practically instant support. Will recommend to all of my shooting buddys.

Great

This app is the most accurate ballistics program I have used. Ive used it out to 1400 yards on steel and it has been spot on. The only improvements Id like to see is a twist rate input in the load data to compensate for spin drift, an off set sight in in the same field, and i would like to see the MOA output match the clicks. For example, if you say your scope has 1/3 MOA clicks, have the MOA output match the click output. Other than that it works very well.
